The business start up programme is a 26-week practical course where the participants have the opportunity to grow and develop their confidence and business skills.

Who is the programme for?

The training programme is for unemployed people who:

• Have a business idea
• Are considering self employment
• Require training in business skills
• Wish to explore options regarding their business idea

Under the guidance of the co-ordinator, participants receive training, support, advice, coaching and mentoring in exploring the viability of their business idea.

What is involved in participation in the programme?

• One day per week business tuition
• One to one sessions with tutor developing the idea/business
• Remainder of hours spent working on own business
• 26 weeks duration

Where does the programme take place?

Business tuition takes place on Mondays in Crank House, Banagher.

• Basic book-keeping and accounts
• Information sessions with Government agencies
• Business Finance
• Marketing
• Legal issues
• Business Insurance
• Basic I.T. skills
• Developing Business Plan
